Ibadah of Imam Ahlus sunnah Imam Ahmad ibn Hanbal رحمہ اللہ.

Imam abu Nu'aym al Asbahani رحمہ اللہ said; It has been reported from Sulayman bin Ahmad (Imam Tabarani رحمہ اللہ) that Abdullah ibn Ahmad bin Hanbal said:

 أَبِي يُصَلِّي فِي كُلِّ يَوْمٍ وَلَيْلَةٍ ثَلَاثَمِائَةِ رَكْعَةٍ، فَلَمَّا مَرِضَ مِنْ تِلْكَ الْأَسْوَاطِ أَضْعَفَتْهُ، فَكَانَ يُصَلِّي فِي كُلِّ يَوْمٍ وَلَيْلَةٍ مِائَةً وَخَمْسِينَ رَكْعَةً، وَكَانَ قُرْبَ الثَّمَانِينَ»

My father used to offer 300 Nawafil (voluntary prayers) during the day and night and when he became weak because of the lashes then he used to offer 150 rakah of nawafil prayer in the day and night and he was 80 years old at that time.

Son of Imam Ahmad bin Hanbal رحمہ اللہ said: 

أَبِي يَقْرَأُ فِي كُلِّ يَوْمٍ سَبْعًا يَخْتِمُ فِي كُلِّ سَبْعَةِ أَيَّامٍ، وَكَانَتْ لَهُ خَتْمَةٌ فِي كُلِّ سَبْعِ لَيَالٍ، سِوَى صَلَاةِ النَّهَارِ، وَكَانَ سَاعَةَ يُصَلَّى عِشَاءَ الْآخِرَةِ يَنَامُ نَوْمَةً خَفِيفَةً، ثُمَّ يَقُومُ إِلَى الصَّبَّاحِ يُصَلِّي وَيَدْعُو

Father used to recite seventh part of the Qur'an on the daily basis and complete the recitation of Qur'an in seven days and sleep a little in the night and till morning he would indulge himself in salah and remembrance of Allah.

Allah عزوجل said in Qur'an:

إِنَّ الْمُتَّقِينَ فِي جَنَّاتٍ وَعُيُونٍ آخِذِينَ مَا آتَاهُمْ رَبُّهُمْ إِنَّهُمْ كَانُوا قَبْلَ ذَلِكَ مُحْسِنِينَ كَانُوا قَلِيلا مِّنَ اللَّيْلِ مَا يَهْجَعُونَ وَبِالأَسْحَارِ هُمْ يَسْتَغْفِرُونَ.

Indeed, the righteous will be among gardens and springs,  Accepting what their Lord has given them. Indeed, they were before that doers of good.  They used to sleep but little of the night,  And in the hours before dawn they would ask forgiveness,

Saydna Ali's رضیﷲ عنه Astaghfar for the army men killed in the battle of Siffeen

Saalim bin Ubaid As Shaji'i رضیﷲ عنه said: I saw Saydna Ali after the battle of Siffeen and he was holding my hand and we were walking near the army men died in the battle of Siffeen. Saydna Ali رضیﷲ عنه began asking forgiveness for them till we reached the people of Syria who died in the battle, So I said: O Ameerul Momineen! we're at the companions of Saydna Muawiya رضیﷲ عنه then Saydna Ali replied:

إنما الحساب علي وعلى معاوية

We, Muawiya and I, both will be held accountable for it.

VIRTUES OF HASSAN AND HUSSAIN رضیﷲ عنهم and the Nasibi (Haters of Ahle Bayt).

Imam Abu bakr Mohammad bin al Hasan al Ajurri رحمہ اللہ writes under the chapter "Virtues of Hassan and Hussain رضیﷲ عنهما" which he compiled in his book "As Shariah":

اعْلَمُوا رَحِمَنَا اللَّهُ وَإِيَّاكُمْ: أَنَّ الْحَسَنَ وَالْحُسَيْنَ رَضِيَ اللَّهُ عَنْهُمَا خَطَرُهُمَا عَظِيمٌ، وَقَدْرُهُمَا جَلِيلٌ، وَفَضْلُهُمَا كَبِيرٌ، أَشْبَهُ النَّاسِ بِرَسُولِ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ خَلْقًا وَخُلُقًا الْحَسَنُ وَالْحُسَيْنُ رَضِيَ اللَّهُ عَنْهُمَا، هُمَا ذُرِّيَّتُهُ الطَّيِّبَةُ الطَّاهِرَةُ الْمُبَارَكَةُ، وَبَضْعَتَانِ مِنْهُ، أُمُّهُمَا فَاطِمَةُ الزَّهْرَاءُ، مُهْجَةُ رَسُولِ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ، وَبَضْعَةٌ مِنْهُ، وَأَبُوهُمَا أَمِيرُ الْمُؤْمِنِينَ عَلِيُّ بْنُ أَبِي طَالِبٍ رَضِيَ اللَّهُ عَنْهُ، أَخُو رَسُولِ رَبِّ الْعَالَمِينَ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ، وَابْنُ عَمِّهِ، وَخَتَنُهُ عَلَى ابْنَتِهِ، وَنَاصِرُهُ وَمُفَرِّجُ الْكَرْبَ عَنْهُ، وَمَنْ كَانَ اللَّهُ وَرَسُولُهُ لَهُ مُحِبِّينَ

Be informed! may Allah have mercy upon you and us, that the virtues of Saydna Hasan and Hussain رضیﷲ عنهم is great and their status is high, with best of the ranks and they resembled the most to the Prophet Mohammad ﷺ with physical appearance as well as character and behaviour, they are the honorable offsprings of Prophet ﷺ, they are the part of his life, their mother, Sayyidah Fatima رضیﷲ عنها was the dearest daughter of the Prophet ﷺ and a part of his life, their father, Saydna Ali ibn Abi Talib رضیﷲ عنه was paternal cousin of Prophet of Allah عزوجل and the son of Prophet's Uncle and he was the son in law of Mohammad ﷺ, and he was helper of Mohammad ﷺ as he used to remove the sadness and trouble of Rasool ﷺ and he was the one who's loved by Allah and his Rasool ﷺ,

فَقَدْ جَمَعَ اللَّهُ الْكَرِيمُ لِلْحَسَنِ وَالْحُسَيْنِ رَضِيَ اللَّهُ عَنْهُمَا الشُّرَفَ الْعَظِيمَ، وَالْحَظَّ الْجَزِيلَ مِنْ كُلِّ جِهَةٍ، رَيْحَانَتَا رَسُولِ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ، وَسَيِّدَا شَبَابِ أَهْلِ الْجَنَّةِ،۔ 

Allah عزوجل gathered all the virtues and ranks of Hasan and Hussain رضیﷲ عنهم and blessed them with his best of the qualities, they both are beautiful flowers of the beautiful garden of Mohammad ﷺ and they both are the leaders of youth in Jannah.

     وَسَنَذْكُرُ مَا حَضَرَنِي ذِكْرُهُ بِمَكَّةَ مِنَ الْفَضَائِلِ؛ مَا تُقَرُّ بِهَا عَيْنُ كُلِّ مُؤْمِنٍ مُحِبٍّ لَهُمَا، وَيُسْخِنُ اللَّهُ الْعَظِيمُ بِهَا عَيْنَ كُلِّ نَاصِبِيٍّ خَبِيثٍ، بَاغِضٍ لَهُمَا أَبْغَضَ اللَّهُ مَنْ أَبْغَضَهُمَا».

I will indeed talk about the narrations which I have in regards to them from Holy Makkah and by this it would become coolness of the eyes for every believer who possess love in their heart for them and with the virtues of them Allah will burn the eyes of every khabees Nasibi (The one who hates Ahle bayt) who have hate in their hearts for Hassan and Hussain رضیﷲ عنهم.

There's no cure for illness in haram things.

 كان ابن عمر، §إذا دعا طبيبا يعالج بعض أصحابه اشترط عليه أن لا يداوي بشيء مما حرم الله عز وجل

It has been attributed to Saydna Abdullah ibn Umar رضیﷲ عنه that whenever he asked the doctor for prescription, he place a condition that he won't treat his disease or illness with the things which Allah had forbidden.

Dowry as a charity

 Imam ibn Taymiyah رحمہ اللہ said:

وإذا أحب امرأة في الدنيا ولم يتزوجها وتصدق بمهرها وطلبها من الله تعالى أن تكون له زوجة في الآخرة رجي له ذلك من الله تعالى.

If a man loves a woman and it is not possible for him to marry her in this dunya and he pays the Mahr (dowry) as a charity, make dua to Allah azzawajal to make that woman his wife in the akhirah then it can be assumed that Allah will grant his dua.

Imam al Hasan عليه السلام and his last will to be buried near the grave of Mohammad ﷺ.

Abu Hazim رحمہ اللہ reported: When Hasan عليه السلام was on his deathbed he said to his brother Imam Hussain عليه السلام

ادفنوني عند أبي- يعني النبي ص- إلا أن تخافوا الدماء. فإن خفتم الدماء فلا تهريقوا في دما. ادفنوني عند مقابر المسلمين.

Bury me near my grandfather Mohammad ﷺ on a condition if there's no bloodshed, and if you think that there will be a bloodshed upon this them bury me in the general graveyard where other muslims are buried.

When the soul of Hassan عليه السلام departed, the Hussain عليه السلام and his allies pulled up their weapons, then Saydna Abu Huraira رضیﷲ عنه told them, I swear by allah and I remind you of your brother's (al Hasan) will that people will not spare you until there will be bloodshed in between you, hence he co-operated with him all along and returned back and reverted from his stance, then people buried him in the graveyard of al Baqi.

Saydna Abu Huraira رضیﷲ عنه said:

أرأيتم لو جيء بابن موسى ليدفن مع أبيه فمنع أكانوا قد ظلموه؟

Tell me, Is this not Zulm?  if the son of Prophet Moses was denied to be buried near the grave of his father, people replied to him and said yes it will be a Zulm, then Abu Huraira رضیﷲ عنه said:

فهذا ابن نبي الله قد جيء به ليدفن مع أبيه.

This was the son of Mohammad Mustafa ﷺ who desired to be buried near the grave of Mohammad ﷺ.

Abu Hazim رحمہ اللہ said: I was present during the death of Hasan bin Ali رضیﷲ عنهما.

Urwah bin Zubair رحمہ اللہ said:

When the death of al Hasan عليه السلام came then he said:

ادفنوني عند قبر رسول الله صلى الله عليه وسلم إلا أن تخافوا أن يكون في ذلك شر، فإن خفتم الشر فادفنوني عند أمي .

Bury me near the grave of Mohammad ﷺ if there's no problem and if there will be an issue or problem then bury me near the grave of my Mother Sayyidah Fatima, Hasan passed away. When people decided to bury him then Marwan stopped them and said he will not be buried near the grave of Mohammad ﷺ, he will be buried in Usman hush kokab, therefore The tribe of Hashim and Tribe of Umayyah gathered around and started fighting and took up weapons.

Then Abu Huraira رضیﷲ عنه said to Marwan, 

يا مروان أتمنع الحسن أن يدفن في هذا الموضع؟ وقد سمعت رسول الله صلى الله عليه وسلم [يقول له ولأخيه حسين: هما سيدا شباب أهل الجنة

O Marwan! Do you dare to stop Hasan عليه السلام to be buried near the grave of Mohammad ﷺ, I Heard heard about him (al Hasan) and his brother (Hussain) that they will be the leaders of youth in Jannah.

Marwan replied: Leave it! If you and Abu Saeed al Khudri haven't memorized this hadith then it would have wasted, you have accepted the Islam during the incident of Khaybar, 

Abu Huraira said: You said the truth, I accepted Islam during Khaybar but I have been with Mohammad ﷺ continuously, I used to asked questions, I followed him to the extent that I give attention whatever questions were asked to Rasool ﷺ and I knew everyone who loved Mohammad ﷺ and who is loved by Mohammad ﷺ and Whom did Rasool ﷺ hate, who's near to Rasool ﷺ and who's far, who obey Mohammad ﷺ and who rejected his teachings, for whom Rasool ﷺ prayed for and to whom Rasoolallah ﷺ cursed, I know everyone.

When Sayyidah Ayesha saw weapons and men like this he feared that there will be bloodshed hence, She said: this is my house, I won't allow anyone to be buried in my house, therefore Mohammad bin Ali (Ibn Hanfiyah) said to his brother al Hussain عليه السلام,

يا أخي إنه لو أوصى أن يدفن لدفناه أو نموت قبل ذلك!!! ولكنه قد استثنى فقال: [إلا أن تخافوا الشر فأي شر أشد مما ترى؟

 O brother! if Hasan had willed that he will only be buried near the Prophet ﷺ then we would have buried him there for sure or we would have died doing so but he placed a condition that if there's a problem burying me near the Mohammad ﷺ then bury me near my mother Fatima رضیﷲ عنها hence if you see, this is the problem and fear of bloodshed which your brother Hasan was talking about.

 At last Imam al Hasan عليه السلام was buried next to his mother Sayyidah Fatima رضیﷲ عنها in al Baqi graveyard.

SMELL OF THE BELOVED.


هل للهب راىهة؟ 

نعم هو ذاك العبق الذي وجده سيدنا يعقوب في قميص يوسف فارتد اليه بصره .

Does love have a fragrance?

Yes, it is that fragrance that Saydna Yaqoob found in Saydna Yusuf's shirt, and he got his eyesight back.

Saydna Yusuf عليه السلام said:

اِذۡہَبُوۡا بِقَمِیۡصِیۡ ہٰذَا فَاَلۡقُوۡہُ عَلٰی وَجۡہِ اَبِیۡ یَاۡتِ بَصِیۡرًا

Take my shirt, and put it over the face of my father (Saydna Yaqub عليه السلام); he will regain his eyesight.

فَلَمَّاۤ  اَنۡ جَآءَ الۡبَشِیۡرُ اَلۡقٰىہُ عَلٰی وَجۡہِہٖ فَارۡتَدَّ بَصِیۡرًا

And when the bearer of good tidings arrived, he put it over his (Saydna Yaqub عليه السلام) face, and he regained his eyesight.

[Surah Yusuf/93-96]

it was the sight of the bloody shirt that caused Yaqub to go blind and now seeing the beautiful shirt that Saydna Yusuf was wearing will bring the sight back to him because the cure and the disease are always opposites. 

It was the sight of the shirt that caused him to go blind, and it will be the shirt, by the blessings of Allah, that will bring his eyesight back to him.

Shaikh al Islam Mohammad bin Abdul Wahab رحمہ اللہ and his love for Ahle Bayt.

The name of Ibn Wahab's رحمہ اللہ offsprings were on the name of Ahle bayt, without any doubt anyone who's sane would know that a man will name his children on the name whom he loves much, therefore, Ibn Wahab رحمہ اللہ named his eldest son "Ali" and named his daughter "Fatima", and named his two youngest son with "Hasan" and "Hussain"

What if a person see Jinn and Shayatan.

Saydna Yasir bin Amr'u narrated: Saydna Umar ibn al Khattab عليه السلام said when it's mentioned about Jinn and Shaytan,

إنه ليس من شيء يستطيع أن يتغير عن خلق الله خلقه، ولكن لهم سحرة كسحرتكم، فإذا رأيتم من ذلك شيا فاذنوا 

 No one has the power to change the creation of Allah to which Allah has created, but there are mischievous among them like you have among you, hence, when you see anything like this then call out the Azaan.

Abu Najih reported: Saydna Umar ibn al Khattab رضیﷲ عنه said,

لَيُعْجِبُنِي الرَّجُلُ أَنْ يَكُونَ فِي أَهْلِ بَيْتِهِ كَالصَّبِيِّ فَإِذَا ابْتُغِيَ مِنْهُ وُجِدَ رَجُلًا

I am certainly amazed that a MAN can be with his family like a CHILD, but if he is called forth, he is found to be a true MAN.

Expelling people from the Ahlus sunnah wal Jamah.

Imam Ahmad bin Hanbal رحمہ اللہ said:

إِخراجُ النَّاسِ مِنَ السُّنَّةِ شَديدٌ

It is a very crucial and critical matter to exclude someone from the Ahlus Sunnah.

[as Sunnah lil Khallal 2/373, #513 sanad sahih]

Imam Darami رحمہ اللہ said:

والبِدعةُ أمرُها شَديدٌ، والمنسوب إليها سيء الحالِ بين أَظْهُرِ المسلمينَ، فلا تَعْجَلُوا بالبدعة حتَّى تستيقنوا وتعلموا أَحَقًّا قال أحدُ الفَرِيقَينِ أم بَاطِلاً؟ وكيف تستعجلون أن تَنْسِبُوا إلى البدعة أقوامًا في قَوْلٍ قَالُوهُ، ولا تَدْرُونَ أنهم أَصَابُوا الحقَّ في قولهم ذلك أم أَخْطَئُوهُ؟!

The matter of bidah (innovation) is a serious thing, and the person who has attributed to the bidah is considered a wicked man, thus, do not be hasty with the matters of bidah until and unless you make yourself sure that who said the truth and who's on the falsehood in between two, and how can you be so hasty and quick to declare someone an innovator according to their opinion, even though you are unaware that if they have reached to the truth or fell in the error.

Abusing Saydna Muawiya رضیﷲ عنه

Allama Shihabuddin Ahmad bin Mohammad al Khafaaji al Hanafi رحمہ اللہ (d. 1069 A.H) said:

ومن يكون يطعن في معاوية فذلك كلب من كلاب الهاوية

One who abuses Saydna Ameer Muawiya رضیﷲ عنه then he's a dog from the dogs of hell.

The Amazing chapter of Qur'an, SURAH YUSUF.

This chapter of Qur'an "Surah Yusuf" consists extreme kind of sadness then it has same or immense sort of happiness, Immense level of helplessness and unbelievable kind of power, separation that blinds and good news of meeting that brings light to the eyes, it has  extreme level of call to sin and lust and against these it has modesty and chastity, immense kind of oppression and immense level of forgiveness, and there are lots of incidents and stories which makes a person sad and also makes a person happy.

The scholars said according to their legitimate experience that if a hopeless and sad person read this chapter of Qur'an with its correct meaning then his heart will glow up with the faith and hope with the mercy of Allah عزوجل.

Saydna Umar ibn Al Khattab رضیﷲ عنه and Saydna Uthman ibn Abi Affan رضیﷲ عنه used to recite this "Surah Yusuf" in the early morning prayer i.e. "Fajr" 

Abdullah ibn shaddad said: 

سمعت نشيج عمر، وأنا في آخر الصفوف يقرأ: {إنما أشكو بثي وحزني إلى الله}

I heard the sobbing of Umar رضى اللٰه عنه while I was in the last row and he was reciting the verse from the Quran: 

(Prophet Yaqub عليه السلام said) I only complain of my grief and sorrow to Allah. [Surah Yusuf 12/86]

How the (religious) knowledge will be taken away?

Ammar bin Abi Ammar reported that When Saydna Zaid bin Thabit رضیﷲ عنه died, then Saydna Abdullah ibn Abbas رضیﷲ عنه said:

هكذا ذهاب العلم، لقد دفن اليوم علم كثير

This is how (علم) knowledge will be taken away. today a huge amount of knowledge got buried with Zaid ibn Thabit.

With each death of a scholar, knowledge gets vanished and taken away.

Yazeediyah and their followers

Imam Ibn Hibban رحمہ اللہ said regarding a narrator.

كان حجّاجياً يقول (من خالف الحجاج بن يوسف فقد خالف الإسل

He was Hajjaji (attributing him to Hajjaj bin Yusuf) he used to say that one who opposes Hajjaj, opposes Islam.

And we have people who say whoever said ill about Yazeed, he said ill about Sahaba.

Imam ibn Taymiyah رحمہ اللہ mentioned about Marwaniyah (attributing to Marwan bin Hakam) almost ten times in Minhaj As Sunnah, He said:

وَطَائِفَةٌ مِنَ الْمَرْوَانِيَّةِ تُفَسِّقُهُ وَتَقُولُ: إِنَّهُ ظَالِمٌ مُعْتَدٍ

And one of the group of "Marwaniyah" declare Saydna Ali رضیﷲ عنه a fasiq and say that Ali رضیﷲ عنه was unjust and oppressor.

Similarly, there was a sect named Yazeediyah hence it has been said about this sect.

[اليزيدية : فرقة منحرفة نشأت سنة 132هـ إثر انهيار الدولة الأموية ، كانت في بدايتها حركة سياسية لإعادة مجد بني أمية ، فما زال بهم الجهل ، وتطور البدع والضلال : حتى خرج بهم عن دين الإسلام ، بالكلية .

فقد بدأت جذور هذه الفرقة بعد معركة كربلاء في عهد يزيد بن معاوية ، وبعد استشهاد الحسين بن علي رضي الله عنه وكثيرين من آل البيت رضي الله عنهم ، فأخذ الشيعة يلعنون يزيداً ويتهمونه بالزندقة وشرب الخمر.

وبعد زوال الدولة الأموية بدأت اليزيدية على شكل حركة سياسية ، فأحبوا يزيد واستنكروا لعنه خاصة ، ثم استنكروا اللعن عامة ، حتى استنكروا لعن إبليس

This sect was a Political group, which came to existence after the fall of the Umayyad dynasty and frequently went in to the bidah (innovations) to the extent that they left the fold of Islam.

This sect began with the martyrdom of Saydna Hussain عليه السلام but they came in to wide picture after the fall of Umayyad to gain the empire again.

When Shia started cursing Yazeed after the incident of Karbala so this sect started to show love and compassion to Yazeed, first they denied on cursing the Yazeed but slowly slowly went against cursing to the extent that they used to deny the curse upon Firaun and iblees, and in the end they started waiting for a new messenger but it all began with the exaggeration in love for Yazeed.

This proves that one who say رحمہ اللہ to Yazeee in the opposition of people cursing Yazeed will start sending blessings upon Firaun and Iblees according to above scenario with Yazeedi sect.

[Al Mawsu'ah al Maysarah fil Adyan wa al Madahib Al Ahzab Al Mu'asarah 1/376-371]

When we read about Yazeediyah then we will get to know that Rafdhiyat and Yazeediyah are the same but their favourite personalities are different.

There was also a sect named Wahabiyah in the past who's attributed to Abdul Wahab bin Abdurrahman bin Rustam and this sect was present in the 2nd Hijri and this sect was known as Wahabiyah and they accepted this title of their sect and even felt proud to be called by this name due to Tawheed.

Shaikh Wasil Wasti said:

A person will become Yazeed when he gives the same place equal to Hussain عليه السلام and we do not have such person in us Alhamdulillah, or atleast praise him, we only deem that he was free from the killing of Hussain عليه السلام neither we see him as our leader nor we see him as infallible, so how come we became Yazeedi? how come believing that he was free from the killing of Hussain became that we believe that Yazeed is our leader or murshid.

Shaikh Wasti said: "At least praise him"

We have a group of scholars blindly who deny the existence of the Nawasi even though the   orthodox and contemporary book are there to prove the existence of Nawasib and all of the scholars are agreed upon that they exist.
